The Exchange is a market for coverage options. Under the federal health care legislation, the Government could come in and build an Exchange in States where there is no. Gov. Sean Parnell, who challenged the constitutionality of the Act, last year refused federal funding for exchanges. State moves forward, for the time being, on its own.
Josh Applebee, Deputy Director for health policy to the Ministry of health of Alaska, said the countries have until January next to state that they are not able to make the Exchange. The State plans to sign a contract with the public Consulting Group to evaluate such things as the cost of the Exchange and its impact on the market.
